BALLET FLATS FOR DINNER

Ballet Flats for Dinner is an autobiographical solo comedy show written and performed by Bridget McGuire. A mix of stand-up and storytelling, Ballet Flats tells the story of McGuire's life growing up with intrusive thoughts, a form of OCD. From thinking she was pregnant at age 11, to wondering if she killed her friend's boyfriend at 25, to finally getting help at the ripe old age of 38, Ballet Flats will have you laughing the entire time.

“The first time I heard Bridget tell the Ballet Flats for Dinner story, I howled with laughter. And cringed. And wanted more. I also knew right away that I’d have to tell it to my family as soon as I got home. Which I did. And they howled and cringed and wanted more. Her show is a flat-out delight, not only because wow, it’s just so good to laugh, but because of how light her touch is in sharing a part of her life that involves a good share of difficulty. Bridget is down-to-earth, irreverent, hugely generous with her honesty, and just so dang funny. Five stars, thumbs up, like and subscribe, would definitely see again etc!!!" -Peter Hermann

"Ballet Flats for Dinner was more than just a one woman comedy show. A little bit standup, a lot story telling, and an overwhelming amount of laughs. Anxiety has never looked better!" Danielle O.

"I was blessed in March 2025 to attend Ms. McGuire's show (Ballet Flats) at Second City, Chicago. Funniest 70 minutes I've ever experienced. My only "complaint"----it was 2 hours too short!!! If you like to enjoy life, go see this show, whenever and wherever you can. Bring your friends, family, neighbors, strangers, anyone. You'll never regret it!!" Tim Q.

"I’ve never laughed harder or cringed more (in the best way) than I did watching Bridget’s solo show. She somehow managed to turn something as serious as OCD into something hysterical without making it feel heavy or preachy. She had the whole room laughing nonstop! If you ever get a chance to see her live, do not miss it."

90%, “Must-see, if you only see one show, see this, :FRONT ROW CENTER

“Each one of her tell on herself stories is laugh out loud funny because in retrospect she herself sees how funny they are. There’s bravery in standing up in front of strangers, courage in sharing your darkest personal secrets. As Bridget said in closing, “If you can find humor in the hardest stuff, it makes the world a little bit better.” - David Walters of Front Row Center
